You May Be Closer To A Diploma Than You Think

  • Our diploma program has lower credit requirements than many public schools (while meeting all state standards)
  • The CAHSEE (high school exit exam) is no longer required. Diplomas can be granted retroactively if credit requirements were met.
  • High school credit can be granted for work, community college and passing GED scores.

Your Path To A High School Diploma

1) Gather your high school transcripts. If you have taken any community college classes or have taken the GED or HiSET, gather those transcripts and test results as well.

2) Email your transcripts, and test results (if applicable) to: pas@piedmont.k12.ca.us

3) We will review your transcripts and test results, and Jana or Michelle will contact you to discuss your personalized path to a high school diploma!

4) We will schedule an in-person meeting to register, review the program specifics and choose either the online or paper-based program.  At this meeting you will also be asked to complete an online intake activity to determine your level in math and English. Allow 2 ½ - 3 hours for this meeting.

5) We will assign you 1-3 classes, and will either enroll you in the online courses or provide you with paper materials.

6) You can start classes right away. We will arrange regular online or in-person check-ins to track your progress and answer any questions.

7) As you complete classes, they will be graded and new classes will be assigned, until you have completed all the requirements. The final step is a Transition Planning meeting in which we will support you on planning for your future academic, career, or educational goals.

8) You will come to our office to complete a final online activity that asks English/Language Arts and Math questions. (Allow 2 to 2 ½ hours)

9) You did it! Invite your family and friends to join you in a private ceremony complete with cap and gown to celebrate earning your high school diploma! We will also provide official transcripts for your use.
